As we all celebrated the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary this week, Fr John Dickson SDB (pictured) had an additional cause for celebration. Fifty years ago, on 15th August 1968, he became a Salesian of Don Bosco.

Farewell to Fr Cyril SDB!

Fr Cyril Edamana SDB has returned to India after nine years' ministry in the UK.
He will be much missed by all those whose lives he touched at the schools and parishes in Battersea and Chertsey, and at Savio House. His absence will also be felt beyond the Salesian Family, especially by the Syro-Malabar Catholic community, to whom he was a valued support.

VIDES Holiday Hangout 2018 in Croxteth

The VIDES UK team kicked off a busy summer with a project for children aged 4-6 in the local community of Croxteth, Liverpool.

Thornleigh students in Tanzania

A team of Sixth Form students and staff from Thornleigh Salesian College recently returned from a month in Tanzania.
The visit began with a rest day in Oyster Bay, swimming and playing football on the beach with the locals to build up some stamina for their 12 hour bus ride to Moshi, on the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro.

St John Bosco College Battersea ended the academic year by celebrating the recognition of its high quality whole school inclusive practice. The college received a certificate commending its achievement in meeting the needs of students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and social communication difficulties.

On Saturday 28th July, Br Ste Lloyd SDB renewed his vows, at a ceremony during evening prayer in the chapel of Salesian House, Battersea.
