The Next Step Day at Savio Salesian College, Bootle, aims to prepare students for life beyond school, and this year, two past pupils went along to help. Farnborough student is Paraclimbing World Champion!

Matthew Phillips, a Year 13 student at Salesian College Farnborough, represented Great Britain at the 2018 IFSC World Paraclimbing Championships in Innsbruck. (Photo of Matthew above: Lorraine Stewart)

After topping the qualification rounds in his category, on Friday 14th September he won the gold medal, beating finalists from the USA, Russia and Spain.

On Wednesday 12th September, Salesian College Farnborough had a surprise visit from a coachload of staff from Salesian schools in Brazil!
