From 22-24 January, headteachers and senior staff from seven schools forming the Fellowship group of our Salesian Schools Network came together in Battersea to share experience and best practice, deepen their knowledge of the Salesian charism, and discuss the development of the Fellowship.

Feast of St Francis de Sales, Patron of Salesians

At his ordination, Don Bosco resolved to be guided by the "charity and sweetness of St Francis de Sales". When he founded our congregation, he chose this gentle saint as its patron, naming it the Society of St Francis de Sales - the Salesians. Salesian students from Spain and Italy visit Thornleigh

Thornleigh Salesian College in Bolton has been hosting students from Salesian schools in Turin and Madrid this week, who are visiting on a language exchange programme.
While visits such as this are great for language-learning and exploring each other's cultures, the oportunity for young people to come together and share our Salesian charism is invaluable.

We celebrate the feast of our founder, Don Bosco, on 31 Janury, and for the nine days leading to the feast, from Wednesday 22 January, we invite all members of our Salesian Family, and everyone who works with or cares for the wellbeing of young people, to join us in praying a novena asking for Don Bosco's intercession in asking God to make us better and more compassionate advocates for the young.

Late last term, Salesian College Farnborough hosted the second joint workshop on Salesian Leadership for our schools in the South. The half-day event was led by Miss Alex Kent, Assistant Head at Salesian College, Fr Patrick Sherlock SDB, Chaplain, and Fr Gerry Briody SDB, Provincial (pictured).
