On Sunday 15th June 2008 Br Christopher Gorton SDB celebrated his 100th birthday. He is the first member of the GBR province to reach this significant milestone.

A group of parishioners from St James' Parish, Bootle, were privileged to attend the 2008 Religious Education Congress, organised by the Diocese of Los Angeles. Welcome for new Head at Thornleigh

Mrs Alison Burrowes took up her post as Head Teacher of Thornleigh Salesian College, Bolton, at the beginning of 2008. On Friday 8th February she was officially welcomed in an induction service led by Fr Anthony Bailey SDB, who is Rector of our Bolton Community and Chair of Governors of the School.

At the June meeting of the Runnymede Circle of the Catenian Association, Fr Joseph Brown SDB was presented with a cheque for 844. This represented half of the amount raised during the year for the President's Charity.
