July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

Kat Cousins is one half of the "Kat and Kat" dream team volunteering in the Philippines.

First impressions (January 2009)

So, here I am in a place I never thought I'd be. Got to be honest, Asia has never appealed to me as somewhere I particularly want to go. Not sure why - just guess we're drawn to certain places are we not? Anyway, when it was recommended to me the only thing I knew about the Philippines... Read More »

I am pleased to report that the above conversation, which took place at the Salesian House in Chertsey, did not result in... Read More »

It was a great pleasure then, for myself, Simon Treacy (ex- Salesian College, Farnborough) and his friend Rich New, to visit Montero in August to officially open said house. What was an old dilapidated shed... Read More »

SOS Re-United

S.O.S was an amazing experience for all involved, with fun, laughter and hard work. Having taken part in two camps I had made loads of friends and had lots of fantastic memories. So when I received an invite from Fr Bob for a reunion in March, I couldn't wait and said "yes" straight away. The S.O.S weekend would involve the four windows of an S.O.S camp - community, fun, service and developing a relationship... Read More »

Eurizon 2008

Posted: Tue, 2 Dec 2008 11:59

When I first agreed to go to Eurizon I felt very apprehensive. It had been over two years since my last Salesian encounter. Was I too old? Was I out of touch with other young people who go on these trips? Had I been so caught up with work and the hectic London life I lead to go away on a trip like this? Well all my fears and doubts were answered as soon as we arrived. The atmosphere was amazing. No... Read More »
