Just another snowman?

There has been quite a lot of snow this year at the GBR Provincial House in Bolton. On 24th December 2009, Brother Mateusz took a break from clearing the car park to make a snowman. But it wasn't just any old snowman.

Groot Bijgaarden, Belgium

On the weekend 15th - 18th October, four British volunteers attended the DBYN "You(th) for Human Rights Congress" in Groot-Bijgaarden, Belgium. Rachel Cortes and Simon Treacy represented BOVA while DBYN UK was represented by Emma Stringer and Chris Knowles.

On Saturday 5th December, as I was watching the evening news, two items caught my attention. The first was that there had been 2 million people shopping on Oxford Street and Regent Street in London that day - boy, was I glad I hadn't been there! Knighthood for Merseyside-born school head Paul Grant

On Monday morning, December 7th 2009, in the Salesian parish of St Ann's Chertsey, Brother Marco Villani received the Order of Deacon from Bishop Keiran Conry, the Bishop of Arundel and Brighton.

Opening of All Saints RC Primary, Bootle

The new Bootle super school, All Saints RC Primary based in the Salesian parish of St James, was officially opened on Friday 4th December 2009 by Bishop Tom Williams, auxiliary of Liverpool, and our local MP, Mr Joe Benton, who is also a governor of Savio Salesian College. The next Provincial of the GBR Province will be Fr Martin Coyle.
In November 2009, Fr Fabio Attard came to the UK for just under a week to carry out a consultation process for the next Provincial of the GBR Province. The members of the General Council considered the matter during their winter meeting, but at the request of Fr Michael Winstanley the decision was kept secret until after Christmas.

Two young Salesians from India are preparing to come to our province as missionaries. They are due to arrive on Monday 28th September 2009.
