Every year the Province celebrates significant Jubilees of profession and ordination for Salesian brothers and priests.

National Youth Ministry Symbol

The National Youth Ministry Symbol blessed by Pope Benedict the Sixteenth on his trip to the UK has been touring the country ever since. As a member of CYMFed (the Catholic youth ministry federation) the Salesians of Don Bosco will take its turn in celebrating with the symbol between the 23rd and the 30th of October.

Salesian group at Greenbelt

This summer a Salesian group of 20 people attended Greenbelt, a Christian festival of art, music, social justice, talks, comedy and prayer. The group included volunteers from BOVA, Savio House and VIDES, as well as Cooperators and SDBs. They lived as a mini-community, cooking, camping and leading two Salesian sessions for other festival goers.

All Saints meet the Queen

The fifth SOS started in the usual fashion of meet's and greets when people arrived. When I had arrived all but one person was there.

Two pieces of artwork have recently been unveiled in the Salesian parish of St James, Bootle, as part of the 125 years celebration of the church.

One painting shows Don Bosco receiving a copy of the local paper from a youngster wearing a blue and red football kit (so it doesn't upset Liverpool or Everton supporters).

Our current Salesian Cooperators' Council, formed last November, held a residential meeting over the weekend of 18th and 19th June as guests of the Salesian Sisters at Rotherhithe.
