European Sisters Evaluate their XXII Chapter

Time and tide wait for no man - This is certainly true for the Salesian Sisters. It is three years since they held their XXII Chapter, with the mandate to revive the charismatic identity as a prophecy to the world, a call for all the FMA to be converted to love and express love, as a community in the educative mission. Salesians who have come from overseas to the British (GBR) Province in recent years met during the weekend of 10th-11th December 2011 at Savio House Bollington. Also present in Savio House were those in initial formation, the Province Formation Team and members of BOVA (Bosco Volunteer Action), leading to a lively exchange of experiences.

Gospel Roads

When I asked if I could have 10 days away from work to take part in the Gospel Roads 2 programme (the US equivalent of SOS) and the answer to the question of where it was happening was "Miami", that was the beginning of many a joke. No-one goes to Miami to do summer camps - it's all sun, suave and celebrities apparently!!

From 23rd to 30th October 2011 the Salesians of Don Bosco were entrusted with the Catholic Youth Ministry Federation (CYMFed) National Youth Symbol.

Salesian Cooperators in Great Britain met in Savio House during the weekend of October 8th/10th for their annual Retreat. The theme was the Rector Major's Strenna for this year.

This year's Conference for Salesian Schools took place in Stoke on Trent from the evening of Friday 30th September to lunchtime on Saturday 1st October 2011.

Christmas in Jerusalem

This Christmas, Fr Andrew Ebrahim from our Chertsey community was in Bethlehem as chaplain to a small group of pilgrims. He visited the Ratisbonne, the Salesian Theological College in Jerusalem, where he met several other Salesians who are well known to the Great Britain Province.

Young people from the Diocese of Salford converged on Thornleigh Salesian College in Bolton on Thursday 15th September 2011 for the launch of a Relay of Prayer leading up to the London Olympic Games in 2012.
