After a very tiring journey from Scotland we arrived at Savio house late on Friday the 24th of June, many of the group had already arrived and settled in and were enjoying catching up with each other. WYD in sunny Spain was the second world youth day I had attended. I went with the Salesian's from the UK, and we had a fantastic group, varying in age, interests and experiences. Even the preparation weekends were an experience in themselves, getting to know new friends and listening to everyone's experiences of the Salesians, WYD and life in general.

Between 18 and 23 January about 30 young people from over 10 different countries were in Bonn, Germany, to take part in an International Youth Conference "My world-one world".

After 3 years Fr Bob Gardner finished his time as DBYN president and on the 11th of March, the General Executive Body of DBYN elected Ms. Lieve Van Aerschot as the new president for DBYN. After the success of the 3-Islands meeting in Bollington last year, the Youth Ministry teams of the British, Irish and Maltese Provinces descended upon Maynooth for a weekend of sharing and learning.
