On Wednesday, January 22nd Archbishop Bernard Longley of Birmingham came to visit the Salesian Sisters at Elmthorpe, Cowley, Oxford. Sr. Anne Darwin, the Sister in charge of the community, and Sr. Isabel Geraghty met the Archbishop at the Railway Station and brought him by car to Elmthorpe. On Sunday Feb 9th, confreres from Battersea, Bootle and Bollington joined the Bolton Community to celebrate the 50th ordination anniversary of Fr Bernard Grogan. Bernard was ordained in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin; that year too Feb 9th was a Sunday.
