Rome (Italy). This morning, at 9:35am the Chapter Members re-elected as Mother General Sr. Yvonne Reungoat, The 9th successor of Mother Maria Domenica Mazzarello. Among the first to congratulate her along with the Chapter Members, was the Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime. A long, warm applause greeted the official proclamation.

Thornleigh Salesian College have just started their Mission Week. As part of the experience, each student has the opportunity to take part in the Bi-Centenary EXPO - 'Don Bosco - A Magic Saint', and the Photographic Exhibition, and so far it has gone down extremely well - both students and staff responding very positively to the whole experience.

On Friday 9th October, pupils from Thornleigh Salesian College (Bolton), Savio Salesian College (Bootle) and St John Bosco Arts College (Croxteth) met at Savio House for a weekend of training about Trust, Respect and Communication. An excellent start to the Bi-Centenary EXPO was made this week in London - every year group of St John Bosco College, Wimbledon had the opportunity to be part of the experience. The 23rd General Chapter of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians will begin in Rome on the 22nd September after the 194 Chapter members have made a retreat in Mornese, and a pilgrimage to Turin.

Fr Martin Coyle SDB has confirmed that the new SDB Provincial Delegate to the Association of the Salesian Cooperators in the GB Province, is Fr Francis Preston SDB.

This summer, 21 volunteers from all over the UK and 2 from Slovenia travelled to the Salesian community of Cowley to lead a 10 day formation camp for the young people of the area.

On Monday July 28th, Sister Bruna celebrated her Diamond Jubilee in Battersea Community. Holy Mass was celebrated by Father Kieran Anderson in the Convent Chapel. This celebration was followed by a festive meal and all had an enjoyable day.
