A warning about Phishing

This week, many members of the Salesian Family received a series of emails from an unknown address.
Because it was sent to so many different people, we became worried that someone had managed to break into our system.
After an investigation, we determined that the cause of the emails must have been that someone within the Salesian Family had been the victim of a phishing attack.
Phishing is the attempt to steal sensitive information such as bank details, personal information or log-in information.
In this instance, we believe that someone has been given out their Email log-in details unknowingly.
Always be sceptical about any email you receive that asks for any personal data, especially if you're not expecting it.
Emails from a true source will typically include your data in the body of the email, and often repeated at the bottom - usually with the text
"This email was intended for [Email Address]".
Never click a link in an email that you don't know the source of, or any password requests that you don't expect.
