Autumn fades through November, wrapping us in a grey shawl of mists and dark nights. But "Fear not November's challenge bold" as, according to Alexander L. Fraser (1870–1954), "We've books and friends". So, shake off that dense veil of fog and immerse yourself in a good book to brighten your day.

On Tuesday 18th April, Salesian School Chertsey was delighted to welcome HRH Princess Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh. She made a visit to our Cullum Centre as Patron of the National Autistic Society, which offers young people who are on the spectrum the chance to integrate into a large mainstream secondary school. HRH took the opportunity to engage with Cullum Centre students at every Key Stage in subjects diverse as A-Level Photography and Art, Speech and language development, and Food technology. She was determined to meet the various students and engage with them and listened attentively as Paul Gower our Head and Ross Pool our centre manager explained the working of the Centre. We were delighted also to welcome a member of the Cullum Family who have generously supported our Centre which was the first in the country.

HRH thanked all the staff and students and all involved in the centre for their hard work in supporting young people with these additional needs.
