Over the Christmas Holiday period, 15 Salesians in Formation gathered at our Youth Retreat Centre for training organised by the Youth Ministry Department.

A series of talks and reflections were presented by Fr Gerry O'Shaughnessy on the Salesian Parish;

- a place that evangelisers

- a place of welcome and hope for young people

And a session was also offered on the theme; 'Authentic Salesian Youth Ministry is Vocational'.

The whole event was organised by Fr Bob Gardner (Youth Ministry Delegate) and Fr Joe Tran (Assistant to the Youth Ministry Delegate) and supported by a number of other Salesians from the Formation department.

Naturally over part of the Christmas break the festivities were enjoyed by all, especially the board games that played a big role in the evening time.

Our prayer life was beautifully led by various people during the gathering.

A general planning session was held at the end of the meeting looking at the coming Summer period, placements and Youth activities in and around the province.

A big shout out to the Community at Savio House who looked after us all so well.

The next Youth Ministry Gathering of Salesians in Formation will be the weekend of the 17-19 March, and input will be provided by Fr Paddy Hennessy SDB of the Irish Province (appropriate for St Patrick's weekend!!)
