Savio Salesian College, Bootle, was delighted this week to receive a further donation of laptops for their students from Everton in the Community, the official charity of Everton Football Club.

The pandemic has exacerbated and drawn greater attention to the inequalities in our society, one of which is the 'digital poverty' of many households, where there is little or no access to computers and internet connections, at a time when schoolchildren have relied on online learning. Everton in the Community has been working with a generous technology supplier to address this problem among the 60 schools the charity works with.

The Salesian Province has also helped our schools to equip students for online learning over the past year.
