SYM GBR at Don Bosco Youth-Net General Assembly

Last weekend, the General Assembly of Don Bosco Youth-Net (DBYN) took place online, bringing together young people and representatives of member organisations from across Europe, with Salesian Youth Ministry in our Province represented by Animator, Sue McDonald.

A new administrative board and President were elected at the meeting, to serve for the next three years. On new the board, Don Bosco Youth Service, Belgium, the German Salesian Province and Benediktbeuern Action Centre, and Don Bosco Ukraine are joined by Salesian Youth Ministry GBR.

Niklas Gregull, former member of the Administrative Board, was elected President, taking on the role on from Fonny Grootjans, who is now Network Coordinator at Don Bosco Network, the worldwide federation of Salesian NGOs.

Celebrating its 20th birthday this year, Don Bosco Youth-Net brings together 18 Salesian youth organisations in 16 European countries, all working in the style of Don Bosco, and supporting over 125,000 children and young people between them. The network exists to create and promote international activities for and by the young, and to facilitate the sharing of good practice and collaborative projects. Through its advocacy work, DBYN represents the voice of the young people of Don Bosco on a European and international level.
