On the afternoon of the Feast of St Mary Mazzarello, many of the Salesian Family gathered in their homes to watch a film of the life of our co-founder, (see below) and Masses were live-streamed from the SDB communities in Bolton and Chertsey. Sr Pat Devine FMA led a Zoom evening session, hosted by Salesian Youth Ministry and attended by Cooperators, members of the Youth Ministry Team, Salesian staff and of course, Sisters, from around the country. The hour-long gathering included a presentation on the early life of the co-founder of the Salesians, and a series of questions for reflection, which were discussed in small groups, to consider what we can learn in our own lives from her example of making the small things in everyday life occasions of prayer and closeness to Jesus.
To mark the feast, the Sisters' YouTube channel has now made the film, St Mary Mazzarello - House of Happiness, available for everyone to watch. It is based on her life and the founding and growth of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, and you can see it below.
