July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

Salesian Cooperators growing in Bootle

Fr Jakub writes about the Province's newest Salesian Cooperators' group

A new group of Salesian Cooperators is beginning to form in Bootle. Last week, a group of parishioners, volunteers and helpers from St James', Bootle, met for the first time. They discussed the meaning of Salesian vocation and how it is lived out in our own context.

The theme of the session was "holiness". Sue McDonald, Youth Ministry Animator for GBR, who is also a Salesian Cooperator, led the group beautifully in the session and animated the evening.

Since the first meeting, a number of other people have expressed their interest in joining the group.
The Association of Salesian Cooperators was first set up by Don Bosco himself. It is a part of the worldwide Salesian Family. This organisation for lay people focuses on serving God in the Salesian style through the ministry to the young and the poor.

If you live in the North-West and are interested to join the group, feel free to contact us to receive more details on when the meetings take place. Please email: stjames.bootle@rcaol.org.uk
