July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

SJBC students sing for care home residents

Singers from SJBC Battersea brought Christmas joy to the residents of St Teresa's care home in Kensington, run for over 80 years by the Sisters Hospitallers of The Sacred Heart Of Jesus. A Year 10 student describes their visit.

It was the second last day of term when we were taken by Mr Dallman and Fr Andrew to sing for the residents of Roland Gardens which is run by the Hospitaller Sisters. It was great! We wore Christmas hats and sang our best for them.

The residents really seemed to enjoy themselves and then when one of our students sang in Spanish for them the Sisters got up and joined in. The Sisters danced for us and sang some Spanish carols.

It was a really great way to end the term and to do something good for others in the spirit of Jesus at Christmas.
