July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

Farewell to our young Polish Brothers!

This week, our schools and communities in Bootle and Bolton said farewell to Brs Lucas and Robert - young Salesians who have spent this year in school chaplaincy - as they return to Poland to continue their formation.

Fr Jakub, Chaplain at Savio Salesian College Bootle, writes: "Time flies so fast. Sadly this week we are saying goodbye to Bro Lucas. After a year of service, work and a lot of fun time spent together, it is time to go back. In September, Lucas will begin his theological studies in Cracow as the next step in training to become a priest. We wish him the best of luck. His presence in Bootle was refreshing and brought a lot of positive energy. He will be greatly missed by our Savio Chaplaincy, Parish and Salesian Community!"

Br Robert worked at the Thornleigh Salesian College Chaplaincy, and was very much involved in school life in general. A parent at Thornleigh spoke for many when she talked about the positive impact Br Robert has had on her son, and the value of having young Salesians, who students can relate to, in our schools. The Thornleigh community enjoyed having Br Robert with them, and everyone at Thornleigh House will also miss Robert's impromptu piano recitals when he returned from school in the late afternoons.

Thank you Brothers! We will miss you, and pray for you.
