July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

Easterhouse Cooperators supporting Salesian works in Africa

The Salesian Cooperators from St John Bosco Parish, Easterhouse, have organised a coffee morning to support two mission projects in Africa. The event takes place in St Benedict's Church Hall, on Saturday 11th May between 10.30am and 2pm.

The group is raising funds for an appeal by Sr Marjory Lavery to help the Kidane Mehret Integrated Project, which aims to improve the improves health conditions of schoolchildren in Ethiopia, and for a new project Fr Bob Gardner is working on with the Salesians in Tanzania to help fund the education of young people, particularly girls.

Harry Kane, from the Easterhouse Cooperators, said"We aim to raise £300-£500 for each project, and Old Boys and anyone who has Salesian connections will be welcome to join the local FMA and Cooperators."

If you're in or around Glasgow on 11th May, please drop in and help with their efforts for these projects.
