July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

Climate change priority at CAFOD Parliamentary Correspondents' Reception

Our Justice and Peace Delegate, Fr Marco, attended the recent CAFOD event at Westminster.

On Wednesday May 8th I attended the annual CAFOD Parliamentary Correspondents' Reception at Speaker's House in the Palace of Westminster. A number of well-known parliamentarians were invited to speak, including Labour's Emily Thornberry. The former Prime Minister, Iain Duncan Smith was also present.

Those who attended were addressed by Christine Allen (pictured above), the new Director of CAFOD, who reminded us all of the challenges ahead, particularly with climate change and the resultant impact that will have on the lives of the poorest around the world. CAFOD supporters were thanked for continuing to engage with policy makers and politicians to keep climate change and the needs of the vulnerable high up on the political and social agenda.
