July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

This week, essential work to renovate Thornleigh chapel began.

The chapel, built in the 1950s, is used for school and youth ministry events, and has been the venue for several ordinations. It will be out of use for several months, which new heating and electrical systems are installed, and other restoration work and minor alterations are carried out, to bring the building up to date.

To clear the way for the work, benches and other furnishings have been moved to a row of secure storage containers, lined up like oversized beach huts on the lawn.

If all goes to plan, the chapel should reopen in time for the Autumn term.
