In Savio Salesian College we have already managed to forget about the Christmas break. The Chaplaincy team is trying to find a way through planning the new trips, running the after schools clubs, and preparing for St. John Boscoâs Feast, which hopefully will be an absolutely great celebration. Apart from all of that, a lot is still going on and on we want to share with you our great experience.
Every Friday, during lunch break, we meet in our school Chapel for Holy Mass. In the beginning of the break students gather to be with God and meet one another. It is remarkable when among all the school noises one can experience silent prayer or communal singing, staff together with the pupils.
The Drama Group with Mr. Tom King performs scenes from the daily Gospel which helps us to remember and understand better its special message. Last time, for example, they performed the healing of the paralytic who was let down to Jesus through the roof. One of the young actors pretended to make a hole in the wall of the imaginary house, where Jesus was preaching (the original idea with the roof seemed to be a little too dangerous).
Miss Hazel Fort runs a semi-professional course for Readers, and Brother Lukasz teaches another group how to assist and serve at the altar. Moreover, we are starting a new music project, which will hopefully make our Mass even more beautiful. Fr Jacob, after leading our celebration, always invites us for some treats.
These short, outstanding Friday sessions give us grace, unity and strength to thrive ⦠Come and join us!
