Fr Andrew Ebrahim SDB writes about a new initiative among Salesian schools in the South.
In an attempt to build Salesian Ethos between the Salesian schools in the south a Salesian Leadership Workshop was held on 12th October for Year 11 Prefects and Leaders.
There was a total of 47 students from our three schools in the south and they were helped to reflect on what it means to be in a position of leadership from a Salesian perspective. We concluded that it involves sacrifice, the ability to be open to the needs of others but above all leadership was about service. We referenced the Gospel to hear the words of Christ on the Christian model of authority and leadership.
Fr Gerry Briody was the main speaker for the workshop and it is something that we hope to continue in future years.
