July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

Last weekend's Adoremus Congress and Pilgrimage in Liverpool was the first National Eucharistic Congress to be held in England since London hosted the 1908 International event, and was widely reported on by UK and overseas media.

Archbishop Edward Adams, the Apostolic Nuncio to Great Britain, read the message of Pope Francis to the Congress, which was a reminder of the centrality of the Eucharist in our lives: "I encourage all of you to open your hearts with generosity, with a deeper awareness of the real presence of Christ among us; may each of you hear afresh the summons of the Lord to share his saving joy in practical concern for the material and spiritual needs of the poorest of our brothers and sisters."

In addition to the great numbers attending each aspect of the programme, around 10,000 people took part in the Pilgrimage Day on Sunday, which opened with Solemn Masses celebrated in the cathedral by Archbishop McMahon and Cardinal Nichols, and, following a procession of the Blessed Sacrament through packed streets, drew to a reverent close with Benediction.

You can listen to key moments from Adoremus including Bishop Barron's keynote addresses and Archbishop Nichols' reflection on the SoundCloud playlist here.

The Youth Congress on the Saturday, sponsored by the Salesians, was also a great success, with Salesian Brothers and Sisters providing input during the day (more on this soon),
