July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

Chertsey student's bright idea for Chapel windows

Salesian School, Chertsey, now has an added attraction in its St Francis de Sales Chapel. Last year, Nicola Howie, who is now a Year 8 pupil, came up with the idea of running a stained glass window competition for the school chapel. A number of entries were submitted and passed to the Chaplain, Fr Marco Villani SDB.

In consultation with Ms K Baker, Art Technician and Teacher, a decision was made to blend the submitted designs into three final designs, representing the school badge, the Eucharist and Don Bosco.

The three designs - applied on Perspex using glass paint - were completed by Ms Baker and affixed into position by members of the Premises Team.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this stunning and most fitting religious display.
