July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

Thornleigh Latin students find it hard to leave Rome

Latin students from Thornleigh Salesian College Bolton are safely home from their visit to Rome, after spending an extra day in the Eternal City, thanks to the snow!

They visited the major sites, including Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Baths of Diocletian and of course, St Peter's at the Vatican.

The cultural experience continued with visits to the Capitoline and Vatican nmuseums, and they found time to sample Rome's fabulous gelato.

The group also took a trip to the coastal resort of Ostia, where they saw the Roman theatre - and the ancient 'facilities'.
