Salesians have close connections with their schools, and this is especially valuable in seasons such as Lent, when their availability to support the priests, brothers and lay staff on the chaplaincy teams in offering the sacraments to students and staff is especially important.

Thornleigh Salesian College, Bolton, said a big thank you to the ten priests from the communities of St Joseph's and Thornleigh House, who celebrated the wonderful sacrament of reconciliation with well over 500 of the students during 19 services over 4 days.
