On Don Bosco's feast day in Bermondsey the Principal of the Bosco Centre, Mr Darren Coghlan, arranged for a mass with all centre staff during which Romaine Shilling was enrolled as a cooperator. Romaine has been a manager in the Bosco Centre for many years alongside Sister Cecily Dunn FMA.
The mass was led by Fr David O'Malley and the formation and details of the service were in the capable hands of Sister Mary Treacy FMA. Sister Margaret Leddox FMA and Sr Pauline Clark FMA all took part in the service which ended with a rousing Da Mihi Animas hymn which the staff had learnt during the relics pilgrimage some years ago.
The Bosco Centre is a multi-age response to the youth needs of Bermondsey. It includes a nursery, a small school and an an FE College all of which are fully subscribed at present. The staff of 30 adults form a strong Salesian team and have continued professional Salesian development with the support of the Salesian family in Battersea.
We wish Romaine and the Bosco Centre another good year in the service of young people.
