July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

Fr Marco, Chaplain at Chertsey, tells us about last week's CAFOD Youth Leadership Training Day in Farnborough Hill.

On Thursday January 25th, the second session of the 2017-2018 CAFOD Youth Leadership Training Programme took place in Farnborough Hill School. Students from over half a dozen different schools, including from Salesian School Chertsey and Salesian College Farnborough, were given information about fundraising strategies utilised by CAFOD and how CAFOD tries to respect the God-given dignity of those in need by only using images of needy individuals in a sensitive manner.

Students were invited to assess and prioritise a variety of potential projects seeking financial support and to justify their decision to prioritise certain projects over others. Tips on effective communication were also given to help empower young leaders to take the message of CAFOD into their own Sixth Forms.
