July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

Fr Sony Joseph Pottenplackal SDB from Monrovia has sent news of how the Salesians are faring back in Tappita.

"I accompanied our confreres to Tappita. It was a very nice occasion and people are happy that we are back there." Fr Sony says that the Salesians are still held in great esteem in the area, thanks to the great work begun many years ago, when members of the British Province were among the first to minister to the people of the region.

Fr Sony says there is a great deal of work to be done by way of renovation and maintenance, and things will not be easy at first, "there is a lot of work that needs to be done by way of renovation and maintenance. but I believe with time things will be better."

Our province has a long and close connection with Liberia, and it is always good to hear news from the Salesians there.
