July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

Thornleigh Yr 7s visit Provincial House

(Pictured: Bernadette from Don Bosco Publications tells students how our founder valued good books)

During the first term of each year, SDBs and staff at Provincial House have the opportunity to meet Year 7 students from Thornleigh Salesian College, Bolton, when groups visit us to find out what everyone does over here.

Accompanied by teaching and Chaplaincy staff, the students have a tour of the house and visit the Blessed Sacrament in the Chapel. They meet the Rector, Provincial, other SDBs and staff, who tell them what life is like in the house for community members and about the work we all do in our various offices and roles.

The teams at Don Bosco Publications and Salesian Link Communications are always keen to explain the importance of Don Bosco as a communicator, writer and publisher, and we are always impressed during these visits by the level of knowledge the students have of our founder and his work. We also try to interest students in our work, and encourage them to think of us when they are making arrangements for work experience later in their school careers.

Thank you to everyone at Thornleigh College for helping us to connect with the young people who are at the heart of the work we all do!
