July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

Salesian Headteachers on Manila Study Tour

National School of Formation study tour to Manila 24-31 October 2017

Alison Burrowes, Headteacher of Thornleigh Salesian College, Bolton and Ged Owens, Headteacher of Salesian College Farnborough joined with 8 other members of the National School of Formation (NSF), under the auspices of EducareM, to attend a week long study tour of the Philippines as the guests of Sr. Mary John Mananzan OSB at St. Scholastica's Priory.

The purpose of the study tour was to see at first hand the role of the church, within school and community, to address the issues of socio-economic, political and gender injustice through a socially oriented programme of engagement. While much of the engagement was within the specific context of the circumstances of the Philippines, that context had strong and clear relevance for the pursuit of justice and peace in the universal church.
