During this week's World Pastoral and Family Congress in Madrid, the Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Fr Ángel Fernandez Artime, was presented with a copy of Michael Winstanley SDB's new book, Walking with Luke, by Fr Bob Gardner SDB, Director of Don Bosco Publications and Delegate for Youth Ministry.

Over 300 participants are attending the Congress, which runs from 27th November to 1st December. In keeping with this year's Strenna, (the theme for the year selected by the Rector Major), 'We Are A Family - every home a school of life and love', the Congress is reflecting on the family, and exploring examples of good practice in reaching and supporting families as well as their young people.

In his opening address, the Rector Major said, "We must continue to grow in reflecting upon the educational, pastoral and evangelizing aspects of the family." He acknowledged the successful work of the Congregation with young people in a wide range of locations worked hard, but added "we have a pending issue in the attention paid to families."
