July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

On Saturday 18th November 2017, Sr Gill McCambridge made her perpetual profession at St Leonard's Church East Kilbride, at a spiritually moving and joyful Mass, celebrated with her family, Salesian Sisters and SDBs, and many friends from the parish and further afield.

In the presence of Mother Yvonne Reungoat FMA, Superior General of the Salesian Sisters, Bishop Joseph Toal, Bishop of Motherwell, Bishop John Keenan of Paisley and Salesian Provincial Fr Gerry Briody SDB, Sr Gill made her public promise to spend the rest of her life as a Salesian Sister, following the example of St Mary Mazzarello.

Music was provided by a group including members of the Salesian Family and students from schools Sr Gill serves in her work with URSpace Glasgow.

The celebrations continued at the school opposite, with Sr Gill and Mother Yvonne cutting a superb cake, and guests adding their fingerprints to a memory tree to mark the occasion.

Thank you to Fr Dominic Quinn and the parishioners of St Leonards, and to all those who contributed to this wonderful celebration.

We give thanks for Sr Gill, and pray for her, as she continues to inspire and help young people.
