July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

Welcome to our new Polish Brothers!

In August, three Salesian Brothers from Poland joined the British Province for a year. Fr Fr Kieran Anderson SDB tells us more about them.

On 30th August 2017, during the community celebration of the Eucharist at St Joseph's, Bolton, Br Dawid Jakubiak SDB, Br Mateusz Papierz SDB and Br Miroslaw Kosiec SDB renewed their religious profession as Salesians of Don Bosco.

Having completed 3 years of philosophy studies in Poland, these young Salesians have come to the British Province for one year, as part of their practical training experience.

Since arriving in the UK, the Brothers have been part of the community at Thornleigh House, Bolton, whilst attending an intensive English language course at a school in Manchester.

They are now ready to take up their appointments in the GBR Province. Br Dawid will remain as part of the Bolton community and will work in the Chaplaincy at Thornleigh Salesian College. Br Miroslaw has been assigned to the community in Bootle and will work in the Chaplaincy at Savio Salesian College. Br Mateusz has been assigned to the Chertsey community and will work in the Chaplaincy at Salesian School, Chertsey.

We offer them our warmest congratulations upon the renewal of their vows and we wish them a very happy and successful year in the GBR Province.
