July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

Thornleigh student helps with new publication

Don Bosco Publications is preparing a new edition of our popular Advent and Christmas Swatch, due out in the autumn, and we were delighted to enlist some help from Joseph, a sixth form student from Thornleigh Salesian College.

Joseph, who is studying Maths, Geography and Graphic Design at A-Level, spent some time in our Publications office for his work experience placement, using his graphic design skills to source and edit images for the new edition.

This year is the first time we have had students with us for their work experience placements, and both Don Bosco Publications and Salesian Link (our communications office) are very much looking forward to repeating the partnership next year. Joseph, and Winner who was with us a few weeks ago, are a credit to their school and families, and although they were here to learn about work in publishing and communications, we have benefited from their time with us, as they brought their talents and youthful style to the tasks they worked on, and made a valuable contribution to our work.

Thank you to them, and to the school, and we wish them every success in the future.
