Pupils and staff from Savio Salesian College, Bootle, are having an amazing expereince in Lourdes this week. The trip is an eagerly anticipated feature of the school's life, and pupils have been hard at work fundraising for many months.

In true Salesian style, the trip combines a pilgrimage and a holiday for the young people, with moving visits to the Shrine and churches, along with opportunities to relax, have fun and visit local attractions.

A recent update told us: "Today we have visited the mountain village of Bartres near Lourdes. Here the pupils spent time in prayer inthe church where St Bernadette attended regualrly. After chicken and chips, the pupils ascended 1050 metres to the summit of the Pic Du Jer and visited the prehistoric caves. This was followed by a visit to the Mountain Zoo. Pupils are enjoying their 'holy holiday' with Our Lady. Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us!"
