Last Saturday, a group of 24 young adults set out for the Holy Land, accompanied by Sue McDonald of Salesian Youth Ministry, Fr Jakub and Sr Gill.

The busy itinerary began in Nazareth, and included visits to Capernaum, with Mass on the beach, a renewal of their baptismal promises at the River Jordan, and Mass at the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre on the final day. At the end of each day, the Salesian Goodnight was given by a different member of the group.

One particularly powerful experience came in the Garden of Gethsemane, with Fr Jakub celebrating Mass over the Rock of Agony where Jesus prayed to the Father.

The pilgrimage was both a deeply spiritual experience, following in the footsteps of Jesus, and an opportunity to share friendship and have fun in the Salesian tradition.

We wish them a safe journey home, and hope to bring you more on the pilgrimage once everyone has recovered enough to write about it!
