Last weekend, Savio Salesian College Bootle held a charity night to raise funds for their Lourdes Pilgrimage.

The venue for the event was the Santander Social Club, and activities included a Race Night and live music from Mr Bennett's 60's band Genevieve. Pupils worked very hard to sell tickets. Santander had promised to match whatever the College raised up to £2500, and Mr Bennet (above right) was delighted to receive their cheque for that amount at the end of the night. The evening raised £3600, taking the total to a fabulous £6289, and a great time was had by everyone who took part.

Savio Salesian College has a strong tradition of fundraising for Lourdes. This years pilgrimage takes place from 10th - 15th July. In addition to following a full pilgrimage programme, pupils will visit the mountain village of Bartes where St Bernadette spent much of her childhood, the Spanish resort of St Sebastian and the French sea side town of St Jean De Luz.
