Class Masses form an essential part of the Chaplaincy programme at Savio Salesian Collge, and every class has the opportunity to celebrate its own special Mass regularly, with students contributing to the planning and taking part in the celebraation itself. This was one of the factors contributing to the school's 'Outstanding' rating at the Secion 48 Inspection.
At the Mass preparation session, the students choose the theme for their Mass, the scripture readings, hymns and prayers of intercession.
Coupled with the weekly Friday Mass, the Class Masses ensure that the Eucharist is actively celebrated in the College community.
Next week, the College begins its Year 8 retreats, and the Lenten pilgrimage to the medieval shrine at Holywell will follow soon.
