July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

FMA Pastoral Day - 28th February 2015

Do you know the world and reality of our young people today? - one of a series of hard hitting questions that 30 people had to wrestle with at the FMA Pastoral Day held last weekend at Blundellsands.

Don Bosco once wrote that 'we would continue the work he had started ; "I sketch, you will paint in the colours"' - a challenge to all involved with young people.

The day consisted of prayer, reflection and sessions, including two speakers - Joanne Brown, a Volunteer with 'Foodbank', and Ken McCabe, who was for four and a half years a prison chaplain at Walton jail, Liverpool. Both shared their experiences particularly of young people and the effects both economic and spiritual poverty had on them.

The day was organised by Mary Biddle, the Youth Pastoral Worker for the Salesian Sisters, and everybody agreed it was an excellent day.

The FMA Communities of Glasgow, Cowley, Blundelsands, Battersea, Croxteth were well represented, as well as adults, young and old from UR Space, Kendal, Vides and others involved in Salesian Spirituality.
