The Commonwealth Games began in Scotland last night with a spectacular Opening Ceremony. If you missed it, then you missed out on Rod Stewart, the wonderful sound of Bagpipes, a message from the International Space Station and the conclusion of the Queen's Baton relay. The Queen's Baton started off in India after a reception at Glasgow's city chambers. Moving around South Asia, Oceania, Africa, the Americas, Europe before finishing it's final stretch in Scotland.
As it was in Scotland Gerry McCann, one of the Parishioner's of Easterhouse, was honoured to carry the Queen's Baton in recognition of his work with the Parkinson's society, Scotland and with his involvement in the Easterhouse community.
