Fr Adriano Bregolin, Vicar of the Rector Major, is spending some weeks in Great Britain to improve his fluency in the English language. He arrived at the Provincial House in Bolton on Saturday 5 July and will be staying until the end of the month.
Fr Bregolin (r) presents the award to Fr Vincent
Shortly after his arrival, Fr Bregolin kindly agreed to be photographed presenting a trophy to Fr Vincent Xavier Mariapragasam SDB of the Chennai (INM) Province. Fr Vincent had come to England to receive the International Gold Star Award at the 28th Congress of the India International Friendship Society in London. Because of visa difficulties Fr Vincent arrived too late to attend the Congress, but Fr Bregolin 'saved the day'.
Fr Vincent was nominated for the award in recognition of his work as Director of the Don Bosco Anbu Illam (Home away from Home) Centre for street Children and as Regional Coordinator for Prison Ministry India (Tamil Nadu).
Fr Bregolin is not the only member of the General Council to be visiting Great Britain this summer. Br Claudio Marangio, Economer General, is at present in the Salesian House in Battersea, London, and Fr Francesco Cereda, Councillor for Formation, will be arriving later.
