July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

Fr Gilheney with Catenians

Fr John Gilheney, former Headteacher of Salesian School Chertsey and now resident in Farnborough, was a guest recently of the Runnymede Circle of the Catenian Association. Fr Gilheney was Headteacher at Salesian School Chertsey from 1977 to 1990. This was, however, the first time he had visited Runnymede Circle which is based in Chertsey. Apart from meeting clergy from Weybridge Deanery he was also delighted to renew acquaintance with parents of past students and teaching colleagues from his period at Salesian School. He seemed to thoroughly enjoy the evening.

The picture shows Fr Gilheney with two sets of parents, Michael and Corless and Charles and Yvonne Tabona who were great supporters of Salesian School during the early years of Fr Gilheney's headship.

Thanks to John Lydon for the report and photograph.
