It has been ten years since our province has had the joy of celebrating the ordination of a new Salesian Priest. On Saturday 3rd July 2010 Fr Marco Villani SDB was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Luc Van Looy SDB in the Church of Christ the Prince of Peace Weybridge.

Bishop Luc, former provincial in Korea, General Councillor for the Missions, General Councillor for Youth Ministry and Vicar of the Rector Major, is now Bishop of Ghent. He travelled from Belgium by Eurostar for the occasion and greeted the congregation, including Fr Marco's family, Salesian priests and brothers, other members of the Salesian Family and parishioners, with warm words of welcome, in typical Salesian style. In his homily he stressed the importance of scripture and prayer in the life of a priest, who must 'lead the people with love'.

In September Fr Marco will be taking up a teaching post in the Salesian School Chertsey, where he is already well known.
