On Monday morning, December 7th 2009, in the Salesian parish of St Ann's Chertsey, Brother Marco Villani received the Order of Deacon from Bishop Keiran Conry, the Bishop of Arundel and Brighton.

All the year 10 students from the Salesian School assisted at the Mass and the Junior Choir provided the music. Frs Michael Winstanley, Mervyn Williams, Peter Brealey, Joe Brown, Sahaya Selvam, Ambrose Anene, Andrew Ebrahim, Michael Hynes and John Dickson concelebrated the Mass and Marco's Mum, Dad and sister were there to take part in the ceremony.

The guests were entertained to lunch at the Salesian House afterwards. Mr James Kibble, the Headteacher, welcomed Marco and the guests in the name of the school and Fr Provincial expressed his thanks to the parish and Chertsey community for hosting the event.

We look forward to Brother Marco's priestly ordination in the summer.
