July is month of festivals, fun and (hopefully) sun. Just in case it rains, you can keep the young people in your life occupied by taking a look at our selection of children's books, including some activity books. Or treat yourself to a good read while relaxing in the sun.

Mass in Jerusalem

On Thursday 29th March 2007 the Ratisbonne Salesian Community gathered for Mass in the Church of the Agony at Gethsemane. The rocky outcrop in front of the altar is said by traditon to be the place where Jesus prayed to his Father on the eve of his passion and death.

Fr Francis Preston presided at the Mass. The photograph above includes the three Deacons from the Dominican Republic who spent part of last summer in the UK and who will be ordained priests later this summer. Silvano, who spent time in Bootle, is assisting Fr Preston at the altar. Genaro who was in Easterhouse is on the right of the photo and Gabriel who spent some time in Chertsey is on the left of the photo. Fr Victor Cabanas who spent six months in Battersea studying English in 2005 is among the celebrants.
