The image of the various orders and congregations of apostolic religious life resembles a church with beautiful stained-glass windows, harmoniously integrated by many pieces: living the vows, community life, belonging, formation, spiritual life, apostolate, charism, government, discernment, etc.
Each of these elements helps to give life to the disciples and apostles of the Lord Jesus, but among all of them, the author wants to focus on one aspect that is central and motivating: pastoral charity. But what kind of charity are we talking about? Why does charity have to be pastoral for Institutes of Apostolic Life and not of any other kind? Fr Morcuende explores and many other questions to rediscover our spiritual experience in our own vocational life, to remind us of some architectural elements of consecrated life, and to equip us with pastoral charity for mission in the various contexts and parameters that we encounter as evangelisers.
